What did you do on the m8 and what did you do on the octatrack? lol, that's 8+8 right there 
m8 is all synths, octa is all percussion, I'm just sending the m8 into the octatrack and using octatrack built in FX to do some filter sweeps for the breakdown/buildup but it's actually a pretty simple intuitive setup
