uhhh. yeah. earlier this year i saw a video of someone reacting to listening to venitian snares to the first time. it had been about 20 years since i had heard the song as well, and it stuck right in my brain, so i wanted to make something in the venetian vein. it sounded alright, but it was all too easy...so instead i decided to also make the same piece as chiptune and put each version into one channel only (left or right)...and that seemed...idk...boring. yeah it was cool but i wanted to feel more like i was experiencing them both at once, even though i already was. so...over the course of way too many hours this week, i chopped it all up and went in to making whatever the fuck this ugly monster is... i wouldn't do this again, but it was fun. it starts with some KH love because i couldn't stop playing dearly beloved this past week either, but i wanted to give it some 'spooky' flair. did some detuning of certain notes so it sounded like a shitty unloved piano. for the end bit, i used that same piano and played some gross chords, threw on this back beat and the lyrics came out of me as this plea from a loved one who wasn't with us anymore...at least not that we can see. it all struck me as fitting together even though it really shouldn't...
