q26 - how does it feel to be you?

By Spaceman Fantastiques on July 3, 2022 3:46 pm

the last week of q2! time to pivot. time to bend. time to get some rest. time to mend.
LOL
just kidding! the hard part is over, but we still have to get through the year! we've got it though, right? right everyone? yeah. we right.

Really interesting bending pattern right at the beginning there. Especially like how it's followed up with the ringing distorted guitar riff. That 1:40 part stands out to me in the chaotic metal section. Might be a silly quesiton, but how did you do that vocal effect where your voice (assuming its you) gets echoed but the echo has some pitch-modulation on it. Is that a plugin or perhaps being processed through an effects pedal?

it's a plug-in called 'delay designer' in Logic Pro, (possibly in garageband but i haven't used it in years)  it has a LOT of presets and the effect you are describing is called '2 bar rachet'. i didn't change any of the parameters when using it in this song, but you could easily make that into something even cooler than it already is...in fact...

It changes every other week, but this song is pretty accurate.
