Jungle Practice (Genesis)

By Snyderman on June 9, 2024 6:32 pm

This week, the crew I'm doing WB with collectively decided to do a Jungle track.

This is my first time working on a lot of this stuff; beat chopping, laying down the sampled drums. It's kind of a mess but it's just an exploration of ideas.

To keep things simple, I used Furnace Tracker using the Genesis chip with a simple pad patch and a chopped up drum break, nothing else. Furnace has some trouble with intermediate tempos so even when the beat is even sometimes it creates a jerky sort of effect which I played with intentionally at a few parts in the song to make it sound like it's skipping.

Had a lot of fun with it, didn't get quite as far as I was hoping since it was a busy week where I ran sound for an all day show on Friday.
