Golf (PC-98)

By Snyderman on June 23, 2024 10:57 pm

I had loftier ambitions when I started this one but it ended up pretty fun to do regardless. Like a few of my tracks, ended up being a bit of two songs split in the middle by an odd transition. Tried a few small 'fx' in that transition section in the square waves but nothing too crazy.

Started using the PC98 chip in Furnace, mostly using presets (the built in PCM samples) and a few bass and keys patches. I've been listening to way too much golf VGM so I thought I'd try my hand at it. Was a busy week so I only really had Sunday to work on it but pretty with the results in just a few hours.

This is really great!  It feels like the background music for a golf game that came out on PC in the 90s.

This fits the sports game VGM bill like a glove.
...A *golf* glove? big_smile
Hehe, I'd definitely chill out on the menu screen listening to this.

This makes me want to take a swing at furnace again. I could never get furnace tracker running on my computer. There was was instal issues for OSX so I gave up on it few years back. May be all of that is sorted now?

Yep, most of it's been resolved these days, on both Intel and ARM based Macs. It was a headache for a long time though.

Back for more! smile It's such a delightful tune, so why not?
