Partially Sequenced but mostly generative live microtonal track

Played Live and recorded to multitrack, then edited out about 1m30s worth of audio so that only the best material was kept

Here is a video of the full unedited live performance

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8zv5cAFypA

This track uses the following harmonic ratios

13/12
9/8
7/6
11/9
4/3
13/9
3/2
14/9
13/8
7/4
11/6

Straight madness. Love it.

thanks ^_^

Wow, that was really something. Like, initially off-putting, but the longer I listened, the more I liked it until by the end I was sad it was over. Very cool stuff.

I'm glad you enjoyed it ^_^

I find making microtonal music 'palatable' and/or 'enjoyable' to be a super interesting problem to solve

Oh man, I really dig some of the tension in this.  Especially the bass.  Love the rhythmic build also.  Great stuff.

thanks!

Such interesting rhythms. Love generative music heart

This is so funky for how weird it is.

the beat are closer to deterministic than generative, I wrote a whole heap of beats and then get the computer to make educated guess about "cross polinating" with other ones, so the beats sound pretty similar to how I write them.... since I kinda wrote them

this was actually by mistake
my system 'reseeds' certain values on startup and it crossed the bass rhthym with the wrong channel as a reference, long story shot, I messed up a last minute change

but I ran with it since that's the blessing (and curse) of trying to improvise within a generative system,

the bass was meant to be more 'locked in' with the other beats but instead it was contrasting with everything else, since it swapped to the 'other beat' in the bank that was not playing at the same time as everything else

I'm going to try and make this a deliberate feature in later builds

That's great, I love happy accidents. There's some good generative stuff this week, which makes me think I should take another swing at figuring out how to make that stuff work.
