Ring of Light

By Sir Bunting on April 2, 2016 6:10 pm

4/4 and 11/8 time. Constructed around Mela Gavambhodi. Transposition numbers are 1-2-3-1-1-1-3. The major 3rd, perfect 4th, and major 7th are also used, so there are 10 out of 12 tones.

This is the lead track of my new album, "World Music Prog," featuring the first 13 of my WB2016 submissions. If you'd like to support me, please consider checking it out. I've been making music for about 8 years now and this is my first time selling my music. The album is $6 for 40 minutes of audio, and comes packaged with my 2 scale booklets as bonus items.

Thanks smile

Nice work. I don't get the math but hear something going on there. Really interesting.

ohhh~~~~!!good good good albam
Just sounds summarized songs of the past.
This tune like Gamelan , but kalimba is another great work.

I love it the snare and the melodies!

Rhythms and scale work together beautifully. Another winner!

This is awesome, I love that main motif, so cool! And that scale is really cool. Great job with this one!

Very cool track.  I dig the changeups and of course the main melody line.

Thanks for listening NWSPR smile If you mean the transposition numbers, they refer to the number of semitones between each note in the scale. So 1-2-3-1-1-1-3 starting on C is C Db Eb Gb G Ab A C.

big_smile Thank you so much! I detune the kalimba by 14 cents and layer that over regular kalimba, and that makes it sound like a gamelan
