Fami Derust (2A03)

By Sir Bunting on February 12, 2016 6:38 pm

7/4 time. Haven't used much FamiTracker in recent memory. Testing out various effects and reading up on how it works.

I have a few noob questions, if you'd be so kind:

1) How do you use the A command - the volume slide? Is it possible to control how quickly the volume slides? Does it override the volume column, or vice versa?
2) For the H and I commands - the hardware sweeps - what does the effects chart mean by "period" and shift"?
3) Is there a shortcut to lower/raise by semitone or octave without using the dropdown menus?

Thanks smile

I love your tempo shifts. Haven't enjoyed chip this much in a while. You give it some depth that's usually lacking. I imagine a few high res samples(that very sparing bass)? What DAW are you using?

very cool, like the velocity shifts on your notes too for emphasis
lots going on in this track

Nice one!!  That bass pretty phat...

Thanks! Tempo shifts are a fun feature. I'm using FamiTracker, and the bass is its default instrument.

Thanks big_smile My instinct was to go as far down as the tracker allows haha

Yes, the bass vs. the perky highs. And the tempo changes. Perfect.

Very cool! As everybody has already mentioned... dat bass, whoa. Has a nice sense of separation across the freq. spectrum.

like instability!!
love it

Thanks Jim. The folks at the FamiTracker forums post a lot of impressive projects. I am learning from them smile

Hm, there are couple DPCM instruments. FamiTracker has a .wav converter that is very useful for A203. I will make more!

This is some slick, chippy goodness.

after reading the other comments, it seems I'm on the same page of them and don't actually have much to add...but I will say my piece nonetheless. I don't even like chiptune generally, but the tones and pacing of this beat really caught and kept my attention. the big slow down/speed back up was awesome. nice work!

Thanks ahhsumx. I've always been especially drawn to the pacing of 7/8 tracks. Makes me happy to see people enjoy what I do heart

Cool bass sounds and interaction with the noise channels
