Drafty Garden

By Sir Bunting on April 24, 2022 5:06 pm

ITS SO SAD. the mystery. The windy sad garden in the mind of a man who already died (sad). What do the flowers represent?? It's too hazy to see them now. UGHH. The ephemeral wisp of a memory that everyone forgot but this one abandoned heart. And yet. And yet the sins are still being atoned for. What's the sin?? It's too misty and nebulous. And yet the flowers grow. But who will see?? UGHH. Sadness like this can only be expressed with those perfect fourths and fifths stacked on top of each other and then making it phrygian

So much sad, it's almost beautiful.

I really love the stacco pacing with the harp strums interspersed. There's also some really evokative chord choices in there. Like, just the right amount of tension to jazzify the chord without it going too far. The song really does just have an air of mystery around it, very pretty and never knowing when the mood is going to shift from hopeful to lonely and fragile. (favoriting!)

There's no sin, only ignorance. Anyways, reading your text while listening to the song was a really sweet experience.

love this, it’s really interesting and it makes me sad

I like the chord progressions, also the description helped to give it depth.
