Cheers! What i mean by that term is that there are one or more random elements to each sound, but also a manual element (my playing). For example, I choose which octaves to play on the pad track and roughly when to change to a new note (it's done by maxing out polyphony in the op-1 tombola sequencer). In that particular case, it's basically grain synthesis in fact...in another example the drum pads are randomly triggered, but from a sequence I designed, that I switch octaves on live. That sort of thing...
