The crooked Jet Lag and Dizzy

By shaike on March 14, 2026 10:22 pm

The happiness of being home after a long trip. The dizziness, discomfort of not sleeping. The missteps, the trouble moving right, being in my body. Laying awake at 5 am. Giddy to play my toys, friends, family. Sad to be back in reality. Meetings. Time. Sleep. Trying to capture a lot of stuff here.

Glad to be home, even though my equilibrium is on the other side of the earth. Tried to keep it off a regular beat/mode/tempo for the whole thing to represent wooziness.

What a treat, regardless!

I really like the modulations in this song -- we don't hear a lot of that. Sudden shifts in perspective or emotion?

Thank you! Haha yeah, the week I made this was *rough*. It was surprising to learn that flying for 14 hours one way and experiencing *NO* jet lag does not mean that the other way will also have no jet lag. I was sleeping from 2PM to 8PM and 1AM to 3AM, but otherwise, I was wide awake. Staring at the ceiling at 4AM is how this song feels to me; all my crazies included.
