The Brief and Glorious Adventures of Sam Rockmuscles

Please TURN UP your volume, I ended up mastering it quite quietly, so just crank your volume to make up for that. I will probably re-master it and upload that version to SoundCloud soon enough.
Equipment: Elektron A4. Composed in the A4, with parameter modification and mixing performed live. All sounds and effects are recorded straight out without compression or effects.
Before composing: I wanted to get my mind around the A4's workflow. A lot of ideas came out of this effort.
After completing: This song goes all over the place! And some of the things I'd normally tweak in mastering were left to the old fashioned ways (twisting knobs while recording into a DI). I might mess with Overbridge for my next A4 song. This writeup is sadly more stilted than I'd like since I just got the recording done with barely 10 minutes to spare.

Super cool, I love how it sorta feels like a mix between synthwave and some sort of hip hop.

I think you managed to achieve a really energetic vibe here. I'm not an analog zealot in any way but this, Sir, sounds quite huge.

IMHO you're doing quite well without Overbridge, which is something of a glorified VST controller in some ways.

Nothing wrong with the mastering to my ears. You SHOULD trademark your own line of fat-burning diet pills and workout accesories under the Sam Rockmuscles brand smile

I still think it's too quiet, but the overall mix does seem gooder than I remember when writing this up. Just have to crank the volume, which a decent compression might fix. Considering there's only two instruments (plus kick and snare), I think it's doing ok!

Sorry about that last post, accidental submit. Yeah, the genre is all over the place! I think that might sorta just happen whenever you write each pattern in its own space.

One of my favorites this week ;_00
