Hi Weekly Beatsians! Beaterons? Beatonians? Beatans?

Glad to be back for another year, and maybe this'll be the year I actually make it the full 52 smile

Just a simple attempt at some techno. Not a genre I've really embraced in a long time, so I'm sorta just a poser now. big_smile

Hey Scottux! Great to have you here again!

I personally like "Beaters" but it sounds kinda like we're some illegal fight club or some guys collecting debts from the Mob smile

This sounds huge indeed. Quite an impressive effort for a "non techno" musician (well, you know what I mean)

The whole ambience sounds really professional and hypnotic. I've always wondered how do you get such a big sound.

Now downloading this and trying to mess with a couple of copies in Traktor.

I like, I like. Would fit in a Mirror's Edge or maybe Crysis game.

Really nice!

Love the main calming rhythm synth and how it mixes with the filtered synth pads.  Add in that mournful sine and voila a suhweet minimal track!  Nice job!

And thanks! I do think I just have an ear for massive sound (I play with the sounds until they end up lush and expansive), but a big part is making sure noise is a part of the overall composition!

I could actually imagine it in Mirror's Edge after reading this! Thanks!

I'm glad the loneliness of the lead came through! I had been hearing a lot of techno lately (friday night parties seemed to be all exclusively DJ'd by minimal techno dudes), so I was inspired to try my hand at it!

Would have liked more variation in the snare but everything else is lush and lovely. I especially like the juxtaposition of the dry, supple percussion and simple arpeggio against the  massive pad and reverbed lead.

I fully agree!  This track actually sounds like you are at the club, but you're not dancing, you're leaning against the wall with one leg on the floor and the other on the wall, hands in your jacket pocket.  Well done.

beatz!

This is great feedback! I didn't really know what else to do with it, but I'll take this to heart going forward big_smile

Oh man, this is the best mental image. My original title was something like "dancing alone", so this is perfect.

Your pads and leas are so mysterious! This tune feels like a theme for a long lost Martian civilisation heart Really good textures man.

TY! I think synthesis design is one of my stronger skills, so it's really good to hear that's not just in my head smile

totally feels a bit other worldly - possibly from a galaxy far far away?  very nice!

love that dark pad underneath
It really gets me going!
