digitone treadmill

about 3.5 hrs of refamiliarizing myself with the Digitone II by making some 5/4 nonsense. I often wonder about a slimmer, usb powerable digitone that slides into my backpack with ease. Lowered knob height, 3.5 midi jacks, usb c, maybe in a sleek dark grey and a return to the yellow display of old. Idk. Anyway, as much song as self-tutorial, here's week 11.

production notes: sat the digitone ii on my lap and played around until the song was done enough, recorded into ableton while muting and unmuting parts (and i think fading one out with the level knob at one point), drum bus into 10%mix OTT, slap a little bit of cxm 1978 on the mix, Ozone 9 automaster and bounce the track.

Also, trying to return to commenting on people's stuff this week, so ideally look out for some if you've commented on my tracks basically ever.

Beautiful arps, beautiful beat, and beautiful use of that 5/4 time sig! big_smile

Appreciate the mix, everything slots together to make a cohesive texture. I enjoy it when everything is so meshed I have to really concentrate to pick out what's what. Lovley relaxing washy vibes too, likes waves on a beach. Very enjoyable.

I don't think the Ozone automaster got the most out of this. There is something more in this song. It's pretty amazing. I can hear it peeking out. I wish I could describe it better but I think the plugin is prioritizing low end over clarity a bit.

Love that 5/4 feel throughout!  The main arp has such a calming sound to it like i'm floating thru a clean cityscape.

Also trying to get back to listening/commenting this week, really glad I stopped by for this one. Beautiful stuff!

great DN2 workout! I'm 100% on board with your list of improvements. I've seen some diy internal battery mods. Might have to do that. Until then I have a beefy battery pack that will run it so I can be a little more mobile.

Lovely arp and mood, a man portable devices are the best, would be cool if they made one too heart

Really making me want to pick up a Digitone.

This sounds amazing - very open and happy.

that was pretty
