Deckard's Dilemma

By scottux on March 1, 2020 11:59 pm

Mostly in the box this week, but with some pad duties tracked via Deckard's Dream, and the intro piano sound from Hydrasynth. I think there's a lot of work left, especially on the transitions and spacing, maybe on duration for parts too.

In case it isn't entirely obvious, this went up RIGHT before the deadline and I was scrambling by the end! I started work on it at about 2pm, uploaded at 6:59pm, and hooooboy

Realtime audio rendering makes things seriously more high stakes, lemme tell ya.

Man that's a wonderful sound. Well, all the sounds therein but I mean you brought out a really fantastic soundscape! I love the very melodic compo style too, goes great with the generous panning and the arps. Great track, glad you were able to get it uploaded in time!

Part halfway through has great wave feeling

I really love the voicings you're composing with. Has a nice cadence. The way the synth starts pushing it's way in is really cool, makes for a smooth transition when it finally goes full on into the synthwave.

I really like that. Wide, nice arpegios, nice beat. Good stuff. smile

This has some real smooth development to it.  Reminds me of "Last Day" from Majora's Mask - sorrowful and climactic.

You did manage to nail the cyberpunk theme, and the running out of time theme. So great success overall.

Thanks! I like to think I've got a good ear for the sounds I like to hear by this point but to be honest it was a lot of time playing with sounds and getting deckard to sound just right.

I love that bit so much I think a future version of this song needs to get a break in the middle for a second build like the intro.

I definitely was getting sorrowful climactic vibes while figuring out the progression and just leaned into it! Thanks!

Great success!

The overall sound is just plain awesome!  Love the feel of those opening pads especially how some of them waver a bit.  Especially enjoyed when the drums kick in with that thick synth lead.  Well done!

Gorgeous intro. Drums snuck up on me! Great textures all over.

hype tune

The instruments really drive the tension. And the effects are so well done to match the atmospheric and genre goals. I'm digging your work.

Those beats are solid as rock. Pretty powerful production here. Love the moment those shakers come in.

I'll play this on my hovercard
