WEEK 49 - SONG 49 - Parallel Lines (feat. Amidships & MENDER)

This week's track is an online collaboration with myself, JP McCorley from the band Amidships and Ashley West-Mullen aka MENDER.

JP sent vocals and an organ track, Ashley took these and added beats, pads and some other elements. I tweaked and messed with all these parts and added a bit of bass stuff, more esoteric stuff, some guitar, backing vocals and so on.

Great collab! Lovely vocal from JP that set the whole thing up, after Ashley sent me his bits, I was struggling trying not to overdo things and still put my own stamp on the track. Think it has turned out really well.

Hope y'all enjoy! Cheers!

Parallel Lines

I took a lot of heat in the passenger seat,
I only had three minutes to speak.
Inhaled a few times, tried to clear the lines,
You know my pulse was at it's peak.

There is a parallel line, that decomposes in time, when it's missing there is a problem.
There is a way that you realise, it's in the eyes, the eyes, the eyes.
It's in the eyes, the eyes, the eyes.

I've only got four seconds, before I fall asleep.
We never really had a chance to weep.
It only took a second to measure the minute.
Then your face began to sleep.

You know a parallel line decomposes in time, when it's missing there is a problem.
There is a way that you realise, it's in the eyes, the eyes, the eyes.
It's in the eyes, the eyes, the eyes.
Cause there's a parallel line that decomposes in time, when it's missing there is a problem.
And there's a way that you realise, it's in the eyes, the eyes, the eyes.
It's in the eyes, the eyes, the eyes.

Because I took a lot of heat in the passenger seat,
I only had three minutes to speak.
I inhaled a few times, trying to clear the lines,
Because my pulse was at it's peak.

Great track. Very polished. Love the up front dry vox and strange backing production elements when it swells into the more lush parts. Great work!

Great production values.  (maybe expected drums to be a bit more in my face?)  Great vocals... and vocodery / filtery thing that follows?   Oh shit... those drums; that speed / pitch processing is rad.  This is really fresh; well done.

beautiful colab! this is awesome. Reminded me of Eels/Sparklehorse. Sensational vocals, so warm. It sounds amazing! Only one small complaint - it cuts off rather suddenly at the end.
