I think the way you use your reverb effects and guitartechnique everything you play will sound surfy for us nonsurfers. So keep on recording whatever you like. this is a beautiful ballade, btw.

There's a reason I don't do 52 weeks of a single genre, but instead branch out (except for 2016, none of those really had a genre).

So since surf music is basically metal without distortion, if you're really hurting for ideas you can do the latter half be the same as the first, but with distortion in the guitar tracks, so you end up with half a year worth of metal.

This song is great though, really great vibe.

I def understand that feeling of running out of ideas.  Some weeks might feel stagnant or tiresome but once you get through it then that fresh feeling of inspiration appears   I dig your surf tunes and this laid back feel is a good breather for your epic surf tracks.  You can do eeeet!
