Chyeah Blah-Malah

By Ryan on June 10, 2018 12:26 pm

My name is Ryan and I like Surf Music.

Turns out 52 weeks of straight surf music is quite hard for me to pull off.

Starting to run out of ideas.

I might have to take a couple of weeks off soon but we'll see.

52 weeks of surf music is like the entire career of a successful surf band within one year.  Just put fuzz on everything and feed it through the Space pedal.  Space Surf!

Wi-fi feel like eating a roll. Can you make me one honey?

.... and maybe next weeks description will read "My name is Ryan and I used to like Surf Music."  hahaha.

I'm impressed you've already made it 23 weeks!  Hope you can keep 'em coming.  I dig the kind of mellow chilled out vibe of this one.

I think the way you use your reverb effects and guitartechnique everything you play will sound surfy for us nonsurfers. So keep on recording whatever you like. this is a beautiful ballade, btw.

There's a reason I don't do 52 weeks of a single genre, but instead branch out (except for 2016, none of those really had a genre).

So since surf music is basically metal without distortion, if you're really hurting for ideas you can do the latter half be the same as the first, but with distortion in the guitar tracks, so you end up with half a year worth of metal.

This song is great though, really great vibe.

If you want to take time off, all I ask is that you upload a minute of silence if ONLY to create weekly artwork!  What would I do without your hilarious artwork?!?!?!?!??!??!

Well, I'm going to have to surf it up eventually!  I have a jazz master and a holy grail pedal and a fender drumset from the 60s wink

I get you, I'm eager to continue but I'm afraid to run out of ideas/inspiration. I'd love for you to keep at it because every week I look forward to hearing your new track!. As others suggested maybe exploring/incorporating a different genre or maybe even a new instrument could get you where you want to go?

Very good song this week, full of emotion and resolve heart

As Jimi Hendrix said, "May you never hear surf music again." Although I'm still up for it!

I def understand that feeling of running out of ideas.  Some weeks might feel stagnant or tiresome but once you get through it then that fresh feeling of inspiration appears smile  I dig your surf tunes and this laid back feel is a good breather for your epic surf tracks.  You can do eeeet!
