Delyrical 3

Inspired by the death of Vangelis. Going for a nostalgic vibe, sort of in style of my previous entry "Didn't Make It".

There's no quantization here, instead a smoky late-night bar feel. The musicians in the quartet float with one another, with shared tempo fluctuations. They understand each other.

Welcome back!  Love the performance and instrumentation and the unexpected-but-always-harmonious jazzy directions this track takes―wait, VANGELIS DIED?! :'(

Yes, ineff, I'm afraid he's gone. An innovator, a huge influence on entire generations of musicians. My father always liked his music so there was a lot of it in my home. Therefore, to me, the music of Vangelis sounds familiar in ways few other musicians do.

Thanks for your feedback on my tune, glad you liked it!

Nice meandering sounds and harmonies! Sorry about Vangelis, I didn't listen so much but for sure a big influence on music and I liked what I heard.

The track has a sense of chaos and mourning, but also feels like it foresees a resolution. It's a nice tribute. I like when the voices are going a bit off harmony and then meet again, and the progression is quite nice. The recording quality is v clean, sounds like it's coming from the mixer in the smoky bar than a room mic big_smile if you're interested in unsolicited feedback perhaps some more ambient noise / nice tape compression could add that missing layer to make it fully smoky-bar, at least it's something to try but anyway great performance!

I love it when the synth bass player shows up
nice work, I'm sure he'd have loved it
