Hooray!! Back for another round! So excited. big_smile

I unfortunately didn't release any solo stuff in 2019 after wb2018 - hopefully something on the docket soon though. One major task last year was building out a beefy new production PC for both audio and video. It took longer than I originally hoped, but by November I was migrating files, installing programs, and as the year closed, installing all my VSTs and configuring my DAWs. Fresh copy of FLStudio v20.6 installed (and Ableton 10.1 which I hope to actually write a song in this year), all my plugins are the latest versions, custom presets copied over and ready to go, plus a handful I really didn't get to use much. Some of which I'm starting to play around with on this track. Whew! I am ready, 2020, let's do this!

As for the track, the second half definitely needs a lot more fine-tuning with levels and dialing in the right frequencies to get the drums and guitars and acid-ish synth to mesh well, but so it goes. Definite possibilities to flesh this out later for a full-lengther I've been hoping to write for a few years now. I'm hoping to use a lot of the energy with WB2020 to drive toward that goal, actually. Also curious to see how many folks also pick the same title, hah.

Anyway... Whee. Excited to hear what everyone else has and gonna try to comment on more posts throughout the year! I'm gonna stick to my personal challenge of making a short Instagram video clip for each weeklybeats song. Similar exercise to keep my video editing chops up, though if it's a little longer than a week that's OK, I'll get all 52 done. Adding to that (which yes, is crazy), is an intent to make nice VJ Clip for the song/bpm so I have those as samples to pull from when I play live again. If you're interested in glitch art, chromatic aberration, what videos I concoct for some of these wb snippets, you can follow me there too: instagram.com/royb0t/ . But yeah, gonna be a good year, I feel it.

51 weeks to go, folks - no sweat! :]

Pretty powerful song here, Sir! ... After that ghostly voice, I thought Front 242 came to hit me in the face.

Extra kudos for those breakbeats near the end. Impressive

This is so intense! Marvelous build and great sounds, perfect mood.

Swirling clocks ending and beginning anew to break acid open and drive onwards into a new year with pixels that become stars and align to the center of the universe within a freshly organized music making machine.

Also, did I mention,

Aciiiiiiiddddddd!!!!!!!

Wow great sound, nice Hans Zimmer vibes in the beginning too.

Happy to hear your new machine is all set, I look forward to hearing more!

This is rivet af. Great job!

Excellent build to those squelchy synths.  It has a bit of that late 90s big beat feel to it when the drums kick in.  Nice work!

Well now this is just way more exciting than most.

Whee, thank you! Was worried I'd stack too much in the beginning with the anticipation, happy I was able to sort out something for the second part. heart
