Pretty good week. A lot of stuff going on at work, and although I anticipate it'll be more work, I'm excited to get more attention from my boss' boss. Admittedly the week is so busy I went in on Saturday morning and plan to go in Sunday morning as well. Thursday was a good day - caught up with an old friend/old college roommate, which was great and hope to hang again soon. Then in the evening, for a music-related session at Nick_Jones and holy jeez! The studio reconfiguration/setup there is now even more mind-blowing. Really enjoyed revisiting my Kaoss Pad skills for resampling. We also solved some zany Ableton routing for quadraphonic... oof, gonna be amazing thins to create in the future for sure!
I intended to write a 200bpm+ gabber track, but wound up putting a string thing in (which is simplistic and I really didn't spend any time on) then before you know it, acid breakbeat idm madness. It's most certainly not at all influenced by seeing the new Squarepusher music video a day or two ago. ;] Oh wait, it totally is - and what fun! Definitely reaaaally makes me want my next release to be digital hardcore/acid breakbeat stuff. Expect more of this here and there across the year, I'm sure!
