This week has been a bit of a whirlwind. Nothing extremely tough but just a lot going on. Changes at work announced, which include my boss' retirement in about 2 months, and who I'll be reporting to afterward. It's positive and offers some new opportunities, but changes are still changes. Work overall this week felt like every minute was crammed full of things to do. I was pretty happy when I left Friday, about 90% of the things I needed to do were completed. My friend (who I'll be doing an AV performance on Sat 2/15 with, more info soon) stopped by Friday evening to pickup a video mixer and we hung out for a bit to chat. Always enjoy catching up and being able to talk visual art stuff.

I was really hoping this weekend would be a lot of audio work and even some video work for a few projects, but Saturday I was annoyingly put out of commission by a headache and stomach ache. By Saturday evening around 9pm, I started this track when I was finally feeling a bit better - but I feel like it captures a bit of that melancholy for a mostly wasted day. Vocals "aahs" are mine, which I expect will pop up from track to track across the year. Trying to slowly get better at pitch and singing, still needed to stitch together the best takes, but so it goes. If I had more time, I'd probably alternate and expand the melody more. Admittedly adding birds chirping in the distance over ambient/reverb washed stuff always has this magic longing to it.

Super bouncy but also pretty damn menacing, cool tune!

Lovely sounds, gritty bass, Great sampling of your own voice there too.

great grooves and ahhhhhhs (authentic ahhhs)

Ooh, this is nice.
Love the vocal bits, too.

I know what you mean about that "a lot going on" feel. It's a little overwhelming but no individual thing feels like even close to a big deal?

Vocals sound great though! Melancholy, yes, but that's a good thing!

Those are some real nice aahs, really suit the drums for some sort of cinematic effect.
