chamomile (070818_065bpm)

Took an unplanned stroll through some datastreams and before I knew it, I arrived upon an interesting collection of ambient music mixes. I actually didn't listen to any of them, but felt compelled to write something that might fit there. I threw in some IDM click and pops, as one might. Nice and calming.

I think I spent more time trying to figured out a name than I did on writing the song. Should it be about tidal locking? calm before the storm? neuroplasticity? quantum strangelet? instrumental convergence? existential risk but also that "ah, I won't ever have to check my work email again" before we all coalesce into grey goo? something silly about deep listening? something sincere about deep listening? how about organized systems? cairo pentagonal tiling? something about moments in the infinite? I just settled on chamomile because it was relaxing and I felt compelled to make a cup of tea before bed.

fantastic feeling in this track, kind of makes me think of industrial structures like Blame! or HL2

so spacious!

As soothing as it's title. Your comment "actually didn't listen to any of them" had me chuckling.
