Dream, but don't sleep

By Robroy on January 26, 2020 8:53 pm

This is a bit different and for a new project I'm working on, so drawing on trap, modern r&b and techno. Again not on full speaker set up (next week, next week ;-)) but sounds ok on headphones.

The track actually came together by surprise, I was messing about with some ideas and then it came together very quickly. I'm finding it refreshing to break out of the 4/4 house drums and experimenting a bit. Anyway, as always comments appreciated and hope you enjoy.

Aw man that groove got me bouncing! Love everything about this smile

That light airy synth playing the opening melody is so dreamy and delicate big_smile Love it.

this is chill

i like how spaced out everything sounds - especially the gentle flutter to the right.

Ah, it's always good to experiment with different rhythms. The four to the floor ways is somewhat limiting when it comes to groove (although you master it really well)

Gorgeous palette of synths. Very groovy and laidback. Call it trap, maybe, but it's worlds appart from that "mumble rap/horn stab sample" think on the mainstream.

Groovy as hell!

Thx, yeah the trap comparison was really over the beat, but glad I avoided the cliche mainstream ;-)
