Victory Lapse (Crappy Bridge Dub Edit)

By roboctopus on March 18, 2012 6:08 pm

This week I put most of my energy into (trying) finishing up an EP I've been working on.  But I wanted to take the dub challenge, so here is a live take of the bridge of one of the tracks from the EP.  It sounded a bit dubby I guess.

I panned bass and drums left and chords and lead right.  The bass and drums were ran through a moogerfooger low-pass filter and a little analog delay pedal.  Leads and chords were run through a phaser pedal.  I did this so I could teak the effects as the track played (which was a lot of fun...the envelope follower on the moog pedal makes those cool blip sounds when the resonance is high.)

So, it was all done in an hour and is kinda murky thanks to the analog delay and the low pass, but what can you do. Sort of interesting, in a way.

Trippy. Like, acid dub or something. Also why are the B's in the title smaller than the other letters.

it's a masterpiece! sounds like psychedelic dub track!! very very well done!!!

Thanks guys.

@AlexOgre - I don't think it's a masterpiece.  More of an underwhelming rush job tongue

Just wanted to add that I don't want people to think this is indicative of the EP itself - the EP is straight LSDJ and doesn't sound anything like this.

but this track is very interesting!! and it's really very well done!!

Very cool. Love the end.

Roboctopus does it again. Like yer squelchin' smile

Like old school dub... space effects. fat bass.  Working that delay!

that was pure fun ... experiments are always a good listen

This sounds like the really deep part of the ocean. Love it!

this is awesome.

great stuff
