So I really got nothing this week. Started an LSDJ thing, stopped working on it. Wrote a short song, got sick and it's hard to sing while you cough.

So this is me trying to figure out how to actually using this Zoom Sampletrak I have, which is an old sampler with pads you hit and whatever. I keep meaning to learn how to use it, so here we go.

Drums sampled from an old funk record I won't name. the strings came from an old scratchy Spanish classical music record. Some random percussion from a weird record that's flute and percussion. I added a bit of guitar and then tried adding a synth lead.

It's not very good. I need to work on figuring out how to chop and time samples in the Sampletrak a lot better. It's not very intuitive, haha. I guess this was fun in a way at least. Sampling from vinyl and all.

if you have an iOS device, iMPC might be a good option for you. sample creation/chopping/sequencing all in a manageable form factor and not too to oexpensive if you already have the device.

this has a nice feel to it! slightly hazy feeling, reminds me a tiny bit of some of the Hotline Miami tracks!

oh thanks! i will have to check this out. i ended up rewiring some instruments into my nanoPad but some of these mpcs come with some great generic sounding hip hop samples

Diggin' that guitar sample. An interesting effort this week.

Thanks guys. I know this is pretty sparse, but I spent more time reading the Sampletrak manual than actually making the beat haha. It's not the most intuitive device I've ever used for sure. Definitely going to try and dig into it some more.

this is fun! great choppin
