Better Living Through Stasis

By roboctopus on May 6, 2012 8:01 pm

I'm trying several new things at once this week. First time using two linked DMGs, first time programming in a time sig other than 4/4 in LSDJ.  This is also the first live jam I've submitted.

I'm still working out what to do with both DMGs, so this isn't anything amazing, but it was fun.  There's not really much of a melody at this point...

Sorry for the sound quality. I only have one pro-sound DMG, so there's some hella noise coming off the other one xD

Shameless plug: Last week I released an EP.  Check it out here: http://roboctopus.bandcamp.com/

It's $1 right now, but on May 21 it will be free (I ran out of free bandcamp downloads.)

This is the shit!  ROBOCTOPUS!

really really nice. more of this

congrats on running out of downloads! ^^ this is really great.  i love the dual gameboy sound.  the extra layers make for some true 8 bit sound.  the 5 stuff is awesome too.  also i hope you eventually get to play all the cool patterns you programmed.

this is awesome.

This is truly the shit. I really dig the bass sound/bassline smile:)

good live jam!! smile

Cool timings. Sample glitches in the middle crazy clever!

totally dig that part about 2/3 through. those glitches are absolutely perfect

sounds cool, wouldn't have known it is a live jam

Thanks everyone!  I'm going to continue working on this one.

@george bowles - it was a loosely structured live jam. I have a bunch of sections set up--some with transitions written already, so it did have a rough structure.  Most of the live parts were done on the 2nd Game Boy.
