Come back to life

This is the final song using Night of the Living Dead samples. This one is from the last 20 minutes of the film. It was a fun learning experience to put these together using nothing but movie samples. I have never paid such close attention to a soundtrack. I think I can now make a kick or snare or glitch out of almost anything. What remains challenging for me is using a longer sample creatively -- I tried in this one to use the last 1-2 minutes of the movie as a basemap and plug in shorter patterns on top of it. The problem is maintaining some kind of separation between the long and short samples. They all kind of mush together. Maybe it's a mixing thing. Will probably circle back to this kind of structure later in the year, try again!

Oh yes! The dark rhythmic base you have going on here reminds me so much of Skinny Puppy - the “all persons who die” sample is AMAZING. As per normal, great chop work, and an awesome end to this suite.

Would love to hear you take the base concept you’re using here and build a track with full instrumentation!
