The initial idea for this song came from my Mother, who suggested I do a blues-y version of the church hymm 'Lift Every Voice and Sing.' I really liked the song, and messed around with guitar, muted trombone, and some other instruments. However, when I started playing with my Electric Piano, it clicked. I wanted this to be a four part ensemble, with Vibes and a rhythm section, and an Electric Piano solo. So, I drew up some sheet music in Musescore, used a preset drum track in my keyboard, and recorded this. This took a lot more effort than last weeks', because I didn't have a microphone stand to record the vibes with. So, I got creative with a music stand. It was quite the adventure.
