A one take performance using the Plumbutter, Cocoquantus and Boum with a string arrangement added in post.

Excellent little bits of percussion floating in and out.  The strings give it that dark cinematic feel for sure.  Always a fan of low & dark moody strings. Oooh and the little shutdown at the end yais!  \m/

The strings really are a nice touch in this one.  They keep it grounded in a moody noir-ish vibe while the other textures do their thing.

strings are really nice, but my ear is straining to hear all the stuff happening around them smile really cool subtle harmonies going on with all the static and gently wobbling frequencies. and yeah that tape stop at the end is tasty.

you are mesmerizing me with this track.

Even the simple list of the tools you use takes to a wonderful place - "Plumbutter, Cocoquantus and Boum". Does Boum generate the explosion like sounds?

holy heck, whatever is popping and exploding is awesome.

Thanks everyone!  I'll listen/comment/reply later this week. smile

I really like the use of strings in this one. Great lingering gloom to it in general.

the dirty scraping bass+perc against the strings is a sweet combo

though i might have dialed back the strongs some in the first half, to let the grinding shine out a bit more (it's a nice contrast in the second half when the strings expand)

Ok, just getting around to replying and listening smile. That sound is a combination of both the Cocoquantus and Plumbutter but the Plumbutter is what is essentially creating it.  It's the 'snare' source sound which is pure white noise which I was probably modulating in some way.  It's then sampled into the Cocoquantus for further edits.  The Boum would potentially help to increase the explosiveness as it's a combo of compression, filter and distortion. I didn't use much distortion at all though.
