I recently uploaded my collaborative performance I did with the very talented Noriko Tadano for Modular World's 2nd Anniversary show.  It's a very special collaboration we're been doing for several years now so I thought I'd share this performance here.  Also to celebrate the halfway mark for all WBers!

Feel free to give the Youtube video some love to appease the algorithms.  Thank you.

Shamisen + electronic soundscape = heart
I love how this jam evolves, and the shamisen and the soundscape evolve in relation to each other. Like when you drop that bass pad around 4:15 and how it changes the dynamic of the shamisen that slowly ebbs away. Really good mix of the instruments, the shamisen with its sharp percussive, clean sound and the pad layers that wash over the whole track. Have you guys recorded tracks? I think I need a full album of this, or attend a jam session.

Really cool to see all this unfold.  It had such a nice cinematic and meditative feel but also her phrases were beautiful and super catchy all at once.  So many cool layers of sound coming from all that awesome gear.  Excellent work!

Thanks so much everyone.  Have just finished 2 days of rehearsal with Noriko for a show we have coming up this week and also for a theatre show in a couple of weeks. I'll get round to listening everyone's tracks when I can. It's been hectic lately!  The comments are much appreciated.
Oh and Kedbreak... no official release but it's in the works.  We plan on continuing this collaboration too so hopefully more to come after that too and hopefully even play Japan at some stage.

Oh wow I certainly would not want to miss that one! With the country re-opening, I hope this will be sooner than later! smile

Noriko Tadano's playing / movement / effect at 1:51 (string brushing) is spectacular: I wrote a piece for a toy zither + electronics back in 2009, and the string sounds alone bring a lot of memories. Adam, seeing this & the theater pieces in particular is like a masterclass for how to work w/ others, absolutely love every choice you've made in this w/ regard to accompaniment function.

Noriko Tadano is incredible, thanks so much for posting the video. heart
