I See Shadows Forming

By rdomain on January 4, 2022 11:47 am

Generative modular synth recording with minimal edits. Experiments in feedback patching.

Sound sources are:

Melody - WR Mangroves
Bass - Generated from feedback patching
Kick - TTA BD808
Snare - MN Mysteron
Hats - 2hp Hats
Textures - via fx processing.

so dense! love how the tones evolve around the swirly feedback sounds

Really like the moody groove that comes in from the 1 minute mark. Great atmosphere throughout.

Your modular work always makes me want more modules. This in turn makes me want a higher paying job to afford more modules. Le sigh.

Great to see you again on Weekly Beats! I love the composition and especially the mix. This track feels so 3d, with space in the back, on the sides, it feels like a full factory sized place with subtle sounds and textures. This is really inspiring.

Looking forward to more tracks from you this year!

Great!
It feel like a huge building!
I love the noise reverb at the end!

Oh yeah. The pressure and weight is fucking killer. excited to hear hear more in this vein.

Thanks man!  I'm chuffed on the snare sound of all things with regards to the beat.  Haha.  And the movements within the mix.

Haha... apologies. If it helps, I find you do hit a certain peak where you have more than enough and then it just comes down to refinements.  Work is definitely the annoying part.  smile

Ah thanks man! Yes, this mix features a new modular mixer I just got and would have some involvement with that sound. So good to hear it's inspiring!

Awesome.  Yeah there's a lot going on in the mix.  Keeping the weight yet clarity is key.  Cheers!

Haha, awesome!  Welcome back too!  smile

Great to see you back!  Always a fan of your dark cinematic tracks.  Love the sound of the bass.  It has such a sinister feel to it.  The crunchy distortion towards the end was an excellent touch.  Looking forward to being inspired by your awesome tracks this year! smile

abstract goodness. like how the pad swell into noise towards the 2 min. mark

Oh this is great, I'm so sorry I slept on your music until now. Excited to be catching up -- going to go chronologically, and we're off to a fantastic (and gorgeous) start. Space has grit!
