This piece was recorded for the online Modularworld 'Punk Rock' show where 30 modular synth artists from around the world created their take on 'punk rock' using the modular.

Below is my video performance from the show.  All live and no edits.  If you could do the youtube thing and give it a like, comment etc, that'd be great!

The video should say 2022.  Doh!  Why try edit that later.

Fantastic. Some great sounds going absolutely wild in here.

such a pretty colourful bunch of cables, btw. I can totally feel the industrial punk noise.

The video is mesmerizing. As I'm not familiar with the way synths work, I have trouble mapping the actions I see with the track itself but this super cool, like an evil doctor's experiment!

Love the sorta frenetic pace of the drums that the synths keep up with.  This is super gritty goodness.  Also I think I heard R2 at one point smile  Well done!

DOUBLE COMMENT:

i don't know what is more intimidating: the sound or the number of cables! smile  great sound!

Cheers! Yes I found it hard not to make it industrial sounding but that's just me.  Hehe.  Captured the punk essence though. smile

Haha, cool.  Lots of stuff going on with lots of control and modulation being patched.  The main beat and progression are sequenced by one of the modules while I'm modifying sound parameters and playing the 'lead' stuff at the same time.

Thanks man!  It was a blast to create.  And what's the R2 reference?

Haha, thanks man!

I hear this as punk way more than industrial, though. I understand the gnarly electronics = industrial association, but the aesthetic is precisely the levels of IDGaF energy in the way the thing is structured, imo.

Perfect then.  big_smile. That's what I was going for!
