Eternal Sorrow

By rdomain on December 6, 2020 12:17 pm

A companion piece to last week's noise track with the Lyra 8.  Both are quite dystopian in feel.
This is an ambient piece using nothing but the Lyra 8.  One take performance with reverb added in post.

I feel lost and desperately alone in here. HELP. You did a great job.

This sounds so wide, deep and cavernous, awesome stuff, darkness and beauty at the same time.

You're really a master at building atmosphere that transport the listeners to alien landscapes. I get the same feeling of alienness from Arrival. It's like having a peaceful night on some alien planets and we can distinguish the shado of gigantic birds flying up high in the sky.

Very cool, otherworld sound. One of the synths sounds a bit like a theremin blending an old scifi forbidden planet sound with ambient drone sounds.  Lots of tension and mystery.

Love the atmosphere as always, man. Really gloomy and meditative.

Thanks and yes, it is capable of some theremin like tones.  One big thing in common is that there is no actual tuning.  Everything is by ear!  Also can add to that tension at times too. Cheers!

Thanks!  This is one from the yoga music cutting room floor.  It's got the meditative but too much gloom for the yoga crew.  Hehe.  I like it though!  big_smile

Damn I didn't realize how awesome the lyra8 is.  The tonal quality and creepy atmosphere you create with it is pure ear candy.  The thereminy bends are my fav in this one.  Always a fan of your tracks and how you immerse the listener into a totally new listening space.  Those slow moving chords at around 3min are so cinematic.  The main characters realizing all hope is lost kinda vibes smile

Ah brilliant. Thanks so much.  Hopefully I get to use it on a film in the near future.  I find with a lot of the more experimental hardware, when you dig deep, you find the gold and that's part of the fun. smile
