Started late xmas eve and finished it xmas morning. The concept of this track was to use only free software/soundpack releases that were given away leading up to xmas. Most of the processing plugins and hosts are not free though.

Freebies used were

RA Metawave
RA Drum One
Haunted Choir
Nordic War Horns

Hope you're all having a great break over the festive season except for completing WB tracks.  Hah.

I like those Nordic War Horns - need to check them out. I like the constraint you put on that track, using only free software and soundpacks released for christmas. The huge fuzzy bass has a lot of grit. It bites hard. That makes for a cool dark atmospheric track.

Cheers!  I usually like working with restraints as it keeps it creative. Yeah I enjoyed the big distorted stuff too. smile   Pretty xmas sounding track I thought.  Haha.

reminds me of sigur ros darker side. very impressive.

Self-imposed limits are always interesting and often do seem to force creativity.  This may or may not be Christmas music but it at least has a winter vibe conjures up images of glaciers and vast snow covered fields.  The drums sound epic when they kick in.

Love the darkness that is felt throughout this track.  From those Nordic War Horns to that grizzly flaring synth.  Excellent cinematic visuals from start to finish.

Fun concept to use the freebies leading up to xmas, gotta love free stuff!  Beautiful build-up and development of the track from the soothing choir to the washes of synth distortion and finally the impending doom drums.  Hope you have a great new years eve, one last track to go.

Thanking you.  Agreed with the limitations and forced creativity.  I do it quite a bit actually.  Was definitely not meant to be an xmas song.  big_smile.

Likewise Jason!  Glad you dug the track and yes, it's amazing the amount of creative tools available for nothing!
