An Insatiable Desire is Forming

Two generative drum synth designs.  One analog (Pulsar 23) and one digital (Nord Drum 2).  Zero edits.

The Pulsar 23 was self patched and the Nord Drum was being manipulated via midi by a custom software patch in Max 8.

Really cool stuff. Are you planning to use this as part of a live set up?

This makes me feel disoriented in a good way.  Some really cool glitchy textures in here.

Here's the track getting recorded. smile

I feel the same as @CosmicCairns - it feels like this track creates some imbalance that is really interesting. Something about the beat. That's pretty cool. It's like a david lynch version of music. smile

Kind of psychedelic in a good way. Love this.

I dearly want a Pulsar. sad

This is an excellent piece.

Maaate such ridiulous sounds. Really tasty. Nice to know where Richard Devine gets all his ideas/inspiration/software from tongue

Noooo idea how you manage to create a custom max patch or even come up with such pleasing sound design but this was a fun listen.  It's like the 2 pieces of gear are playing an intense game with each other.

Probably not.  I try to avoid using a computer live so definitely more a studio thing or even just a 'keeping my Max chops up'. smile

Yes, I was surprised how beautifully it worked together.  Max is my regular holiday passion as it's time consuming but awesome to learn and create with.
