W:LFL (Warning: Loud Flashy Lights)

Wazzzzaaaaaap! I was so excited this week, i just got into Renoise right away playing Aalto and Kaivo synths to found-sounds edited into a beat. In this track, there's quite a bit of distortion from Renoise used everywhere(especially in the resonance of kaivo), and i pushed the master's limiter pretty hard, but 'all distortion is intended' here...overall, i had fun pushing loudness on this one, from here i think i'll understand clarity vs. presence better in the future smile
also, Kaivo does one kinda bassline-typa-sound(technical term), and Aalto does another...
kinda acid-like-but-not-really-more-like-squelchy-bassline-typa-sound(also very technical term),
and the beat combined with the bass sounded so raunchy, made me get up and dance like a naaaasty kinda funky styla dance, know'da mean? just straight-up awwwwwkward! O_o ...so i just had to capture that on video, and i got this quick shader going in Max(jit.gl.pix) as well as played two different versions of the same video offset in time, but with crossfade and effects set by an amplitude-threshold detection over the audio, it produced an audio-reactive video quickly, so here's that, too:

also did this thing where aalto and most of the song plays in 12et tuning, but the kaivo bassline is in a tuning system called, "hirajoshi2"... i kept trying out different tuning systems randomly from the menu within kaivo, found this combo by ear i liked. i bet academics would know how this or that 'syntonic-comma' matches up nicely between these or those particular tuning systems thus tempering wolf-intervals that make that harmonious and consonant interplay between human and nature so full of a rather frolicky style of romance, but i just couldn't givaf- because at the end of the day, the wolves are at everyone's door, hungry for blood, and you can't just sit there hoping the problem will just go away, you have to get up and fight for everything you've ever believed in! because the rest of humanity needs you! we NEED you to succeed! and to truly succeed, you need to go with your gut, which is also in your heart, which is why i think that's why sometimes when we get hungry, we also feel very lonely ...hmmm... sorry, just went off on several tangents there... i do that sometimes...
anyhooo, enjoy the track, my friends, cheers! big_smile

MORE! MAKE MORE JEE-TO-THE-ZUS NEED MORE BLOKPLOPTOP FUNK (all caps because I did not want to be mistaken for saying this quietly and meekly, 'tis a directive, WORK IT!)

Nasty! I like the trail of thought in your description. gives a good context to the song. it was fun listening for the subharmonic stuff.

thank you, i truly appreciate it!

Enjoyed reading about the process, huge industrial sound!

Frying my brain… in a good way. This is some cool shit.

I really enjoy the complex beat and the range of sounds you're using there. Very cool.

This is so good, another very original track for this week, bring on the distortion, listened twice now, so much going on, lots of different sounds weaving in and out, great idea with the video

I'm loving the way the beat foundation has a complexity to it that is intensified when you add in additional sounds.

i have to double comment on WB and YT to get all my RajaPoints™ which are redeemable towards RajaBucks™ for use in the videogame RajaNite™

smile
