Baby Cerberus

By RajaTheResidentAlien on May 26, 2024 4:54 pm

baby cerberus is mad. mad to be kept flea-bitten, starving, and chained to the fence-post of HELL!
someday baby cerberus will grow big and strong, strong enough to get free and BITE YOU ALL!! mad

[sum-explainz:
-produced in renoise with some of my fft-based effects magic from max, many things from vcv rack(hora bass drum and some mutable instrument stuff hooked up to instruo tagh in various ways), and the tal-j-8 plugin for that lush pad sound(i took a preset from there called, 'analog gold' and tweaked it so that it sounded more analog: added more lopass, haha). the main 'voice' is me playing banjo with a violin bow through my laptop mic straight into renoise(it's amazing what laptop mics can do, so noise-free these days... pitched all over the place with renoise's cabinet, reverb, and distortion plugins, sometimes it sounds like a distorted harmonica or muted-trumpet, too).
-the track feels to me like an infantile dog out of hell, so i decided to aptly name it so... the mixing (multiband-compression in particular) was difficult and at times the track felt like 'baby cerberus' scared itself, and instead of attacking its enemies, went off into a cavern to enjoy the reverb there a bit, before making a real entrance into the bitey/scratchy fft-effected middle section... but i mean... what's wrong with that? there's NOTHING wrong with that. NOT ALL tracks have to have ideal 'banger'-style transitions into the fast-ass part of the beat tongue some tracks can take their time, like a decrepit weakling saying to themself, 'nah, i'm not gonna take the main entrance, i think i'll take the side entrance'... and this is what this track feels like it did at times smile]

thanks for patiently listening to the timid violence of baby cerberus heart
