Hello my friends. Good to have you back. I wish you all the best for this new year, may all your wishes come true. Last year I did not buy any new gear, only did a few guitar-loops. The fulltimejob in an accident and emergency department is not boring in those times, we are living in. My main focus musically, was exploring the hundret of DAT-tapes, I recorded about 30 years ago. An incredible amount of master-mixes and ideas, (I almost have forgotten) was worth spending my holidays and sparetime for this archive-project.
The workflow I used in the 90ies, was more MIDI-chain based. I used 2 ATARI-computers with a groove-program on a floppydisc to trigger the Sequential Circuits DrumTraks and a Six-Trak-Synth. Here I remastered a live-jam I did through  a 16-track mixing-console straight into the DAT-recorder. I hope that my maniac rescue-efforts of those recordings and the time I spend for remixing and optimizing those tracks should be worth, making a contribution to weeklybeats 2022.

Q-Rosh! I have been missing your music! I love the usage of whale samples there. The delayed synth is a very cool idea, it could be a dolphin call. The beat behind is so tasty. Simple at the start and just works perfectly. And i like how the track builds beyond 4:14.

Looking forward to more of your sonic experimentation. I always loved the creativity you brought to the process, with in field recordings and manipulations.

The organic whale sounds blend well with electronic whales. Great to hear the back story.  A very eclectic gear selection and live jam. Good to see you back and hear your music!

Really looking forward to more of your music on here. Really enjoyed the way the lead dances around the 4:00 mark on this track!

Thank you my guy, and likewise, have a good year. It's great to see you back again! This tune is really cool, it feels like messing around with a computer on a sweltering hot day to me. Nice work heart

Very cool. Happy you are still in this year. Love the delay on the synth bass (and everything else?). The blend is nice with the drum n bass drums and whale sounds.

Happy new weekly beats year!

Hey man! Nice to hear from you again. I think this archive project sounds great. I had no idea the DrumTracks could sound like that...they sound very modern. I also have a SixTrak but it recently stopped working properly. I guess that's to be expected with a 40 yr old synth! I look forward to hearing more from you!

Very nice piece! I'm digging the contrast of the synth/drums against the whales. It's also nice to see a bit of the production process--I wouldn't have guessed without the description. Welcome back!

Really like the sounds in this! Nice work smile

Great to see you back here.  I always enjoy the fantastic sonic journeys you take us on.  That's super cool that you've got all these 30 year old tapes to work with and I look forward to hearing more of them make an appearance this year. I'm really digging the synth sounds on this one.

Nice one! Jolly yet complex. The upwards pitch bends are uplifting. Your line of work must be very hard at this time!

Welcome back to another year, great start to things and great idea for revisiting those archives, excited to hear what techniques you use during the year

Damn, that's awesome!  Wish I still had all my old unfinished ideas from way back when.  Nice start to the year, loving the stereo delay.

Nice to have you back! I really dig this, the length of it and the drums kicking back in 2/3 through is great. Looking forward to many more adventures in electronics smile

whoops I misquoted, the above was for q-rosh and then this was for your picture:

"that's such a beautiful picture tho"

BUT - it is ALSO good to see you trumb!

Great to see you again too, mr. Orangedrink!

Enjoyed this, love the pleasingly hectic percussion

That's awesome that you have archives like that.  I wish I had a few of my early works even if they were just in cakewalk format lol.  Excellent stereo delay on the main synth.  Good to see you again and here's to a fun year!

Love it to hear your excellent Work this Jear
This is a great mix from your archive, very well done my friend

It's cool hearing about what you had done in the past and how you made it ready for 2022's Weekly Beats.

Glad you're back! I look forward to hearing your tunes! These whales sound great. This is a song I think whales could really appreciate. Interesting to hear about your rich history and process. Atari, I had no idea!

yay!! so exciting for this new weekly beats year!

Hi there. Delightfully psychedelic work, excited to listen to the rest of your work on here -- just peeped your website, and pressing own recordings = awesome stuff that I think I'm nerd enough for being really really into. heart
