record cutter

By Q-Rosh on June 10, 2018 1:12 pm

the last project was to build a diy record cutter for CDs or plastic plates. There were some cool models in the internet, so I tried to build one from the materials I had at home. (printer, record player, loudspeaker, cutterneedle) The project came out to work not so good; more than 99% clicks and cuts and maybe a little shadow of my music. But the noises were so impressing fat, that I instandly recorded them and decided to make it a weeklybeats song out of it. I wonder how they managed to build such vinyl lathe cutter around 70 years ago in a small box for homerecording for the people and today you can only find two machines for very much money and a very complex procedure. If anybody has an old record cutter for me, I would like to take it, to release my WB songs without the record industy!!
I played all the strings myself and wanted the song to be orchestral and cinematic. Do not be afraid, you will not damage your loudspeakers while listening to the song.

Wow those are some crazy cool sounds.  The crackles really pop out at you.  The string work is quite nice, too.  I don't know anything about record cutters, but it would definitely be cool to get around the record industry.

wow this is so lovely! the textures!!!! so cinematic!

Man that's crazy... Never thought that one will be able to cut own records...
It's a shame that it doesn't work... but the the crackle is much better than any plugin i've heard so far...
Along with your lovely guitars this track is a real beauty!!!

Like diving into history.

The atmosphere in this is amazing. Good job man.
