emo warp

By Q-Rosh on April 3, 2022 9:52 am

This song I quickly managed to put together on saturday, because I will have to jump in at the ambulance working place on sunday. This might be the reason the sound is very lofi, because I forgot to record in better quality.
Many of my colleagues are in quarantine with Corona. So there is lack of maintenance in the hospitals right now.
The weather is funny at the moment, it was snowing in April, the flowers and blossoms we covered in snow. Crazy.
So, what I did here is to mingle two melodyloops with a background-noise together, with samples from an manipulated old recordplayer. It reminded me of a warping effect, going from one melancholy to another melancholy. Enjoy, or not.

The warp sounds are awesome ear candy as are the vinyl crackles from the record player.  The melancholy vibe is palpable and I liked when things got especially crazy around the 3:00 mark.

It kind of reminds me of a Godspeed You! Black Emperor type of atmospheric moody piece. And Cosmic is right, when shit goes nuts at 3:00 it's definitely an interesting contrast to the pretty melodies before and after it. That final section is nice too. Amazing what can be made in a short amount of time.

This has such a wonderful atmosphere to it.  I was having visions of sitting in a stationary car just observing the empty streets around.  The guitar strums sound so nice as they fade in and out.  The change in the middle was a really cool effect.  Like I entered a dream sequence.  Really cinematic track.  Your guitar sound is just pure gold.  Excellent work.  I hope the weather gets warmer for ya and stay safe!

love the panned crackly bits, and all the synths swirl around with a brilliant lustre, over such an epic set of twists and turns, great work!

beautiful!

woah that chillout took a turn just before 3:00 - nice twist!  enjoyed the cool layered soundscape of this - the guitar tones are really nice & meld well with all the bits & pieces!

Thank you, another beautifully crafted piece of music, really enjoyed this and the lofi feel of it, just as others have said that change up at 3:00 is so clever and works so well

First three minutes: "This is one of the most beautiful tracks I have heard on WB.  It will go into several of my playlists, where it can stand calmly and proudly next to the likes of Aydio, Tycho, and Emancipator.  I will now close my eyes and let the serene wisdom of the music invite me to become a more relaxed, thoughtful, and ultimately better person."

02:55—03:27 (nearly falls out of chair)

Final minute and a half: "This is one of the most beautiful tracks I have heard on WB.  It will go into several of my playlists, where it can stand calmly and proudly next to the likes of Aydio, Tycho, and Emancipator.  I will now close my eyes and let the serene wisdom of the music invite me to become a more relaxed, thoughtful, and ultimately better person."

Beautiful layers. I really loved the section after 3:00 that goes crazy, as if we just got beamed in an alternative dimension, through 70s sound effects. The very end section from 4:50, with the piano and crash are also a perfect utro for this track. I loved it, it took me somewhere else.

Moody and atmospheric, a very pleasant and cool track! Very well done for something that quickly put together!

really amazing!! what a mood! and SUPER inspiring that you're doing ambulance work in these crazy times, hats off to you and best wishes and health to your colleagues!

Love the underlayer of the track, kinda sounds like tracks overwritten on some tape on top of something else that is badly erased, in a crunchy delicious way.

WHOOAAAA I finally got to the good stuff I'M TRIPPIN

and oh lordy lord we're back on earth. this track is a trip! thank you for your amazing music! time to dig into your old WB material once more hahah ♥

This is a great one. Dense but still we can hear pretty much all textures. Very cool.

The "that one moment" everyone's talking about is worth the hype. Very partial to the manic layer in the ending, fantastic tension that takes a literal break from the track to resolve. heart

"This might be the reason the sound is very lofi, because I forgot to record in better quality." -- this is brilliant, I'm stealing not the words but the meta-structure of this cleverness.

I hope your colleagues get better soon! This track is wild, I love it.

Man, what a trip!  Nice work with all that guitar goodness.  Some really lovely stuff and some awesome freakouts too.  You're making me want to do some more guitar tracks!

Thank you very much for the lovely feedbacks. I am happy to announce that I could manage to make another song possible this week, somehow. Of course I am looking forward to check out your beautiful music.

the blossoms are covered in snow here too.

this track is so cool. great melodies as always, with a different melancholy/mysterious edge from usual.

such thick and colorful textures too with the extra layers of recordings. I don't know if the title is referencing this, but there was an emo band about 20-25 years ago called "Indian Summer" that would play blues/soul records very quietly under their music. maybe just a weird coincidence. anyway, it sounds great.

It's like the guitar is the narrator picking out continuity across all these bending soundscapes. I like the string section coming in around 2:28 and then how things get crazy at 2:55! Totally warped funhouse ride. The ending is very striking.

A warped experience, just what I like. Some amazing, and surprising moments bubbling up in this, nice!

This is so good. The vibe is so smooth and all the sounds mesh together so well.
Love how well the horns and strings accompany everything else
