desperate deed

By Q-Rosh on July 31, 2022 11:10 am

this week there was no rest for making good music. the job took all my inspiration away. so I will upload only an idea of an idea. there is no special highlight in this song, except the rhodes, that I played real time for 30 minutes, what was a nice chilling moment. the soundtextures I made with the effects have gone wild, cound not bring them in order. this is probably the worst song ever.

love how i feel this slight irregularity on the rhythm of the beat, and the ripples of synth/rhodes never cease to bliss me out.
i think it’s a pretty great song, or perhaps could be thought of more like a collage of several that journeys through a progression of feeling(a set of feelings which probably matches how you overcame such an exhausting week perhaps? big_smile)… not sure how to put it, but ya, i love it heart

I feel this; my week was pretty brutal like that as well.  But come back an listen to this after the job gives you a break; there actually seem to be quite a few ideas that could be developed into good mood pieces of their own.

I like this idea.

The Rhodes intro is beautiful!

I wouldn't get too hung up on possibly writing the worst song ever - there are still plenty of weeks left to outdo yourself and write an even worse song. tongue

I enjoyed this though; I am a fan of WB because we all go through the ups and downs of the creative process and everything that bothers us along the way, and I like that so many people still find ways to create art when there are so many excuses not to. There's a lot to like here. smile

I was listening to it while working. It was a nice jam to bop one's head to while doing other stuff. No need to feel ashamed by it. I hope you'll get more time and rest to make something you feel more satisfied with.

I am pretty sure I have heard worse. Probably not the most cohesive thing I have listened, but pleasing sounds and textures.

Right off the bat the Rhodes sounds fantastic.  Then there are some nice moments to zone out to during the rest of the track's run.  I for 1000% sure have heard worse songs than this.  Many of them on the radio by hugely successful bands.

I don't know about the worst, but it's a nice stream of conscious thing, and yours are very thought provoking to say the least.

i actually like the messiness of it. if the beat was re worked it would be a great track

Gotta love that pristine sound of the Rhodes intro.  It had an almost chime-like quality blowing in the breeze.  I like how the beat has a lumbering feel to it as it dances around the chords.  There are some cool moments with those almost brassy lines floating in and out.  Def not the worst song one bit!

this is kind of like a lot of ideas mashed into one track.  I like 7:20 when it gets "melted space cassette"

the first minute is like detune toy piano jam

then the next part is like lofi hiphop jam

then weird atonal transition

then it gets a little more melodic

WILD

Much warble and warmth.  Very far from worst song ever!  Lots of interesting textures in here.  smile

This reminds me of the Future Sound of London's unique take on psychedelic music in Lifeforms, particularly the beat section and the freely moving layers. (Actually, the more the track went on the more associations I had.) A delightful journey to the obscure!

Missed your tunes, Q-Rosh! (June was supposed to be the end of something but things only got heavier at work in July, so I can relate to the exhaustion and work taking all inspiration away...)

the Rhodes... drifting... off... into the wild rumpus!

"worst song ever" not even. Cool to chill along with your rhodes in real-time. I like how different ideas emerge along the way and the sound and effects keep on evolving.  Sounds like fun to make! The mix has some really cool stereo imaging.  It's like being in a sound planetarium.  Imagining whales swimming by in the stars and meteors... then ending gets so intense and dissonant. Actually, this could be one of the best songs this week!

Not the worst song. Some neat things going on here, bubbling. Rhodes sounds nice. I let it play while sitting here working at computer, reading things, like a lot of your music, this one was a good accompaniment to this task.
