could not stop

By Q-Rosh on May 22, 2022 10:08 am

Having another 12 days on duty at work. The only way to get something together was jamming along a little loop.
This took me into the gorgeous Gabor Szabo afterworld, I hardly came back from. My fingers were playing from alone, time went by and the recording got endless longer. I could not find the time to arrange the recording into a suitable length, so I gave it 10 minutes and faded out. To colour the track with something, I used the vocoder pedal and the mic without a plan. This is what came out.

Wow you really  couldn't stop.  Nor should you.  There are some really awesome sounds that come into this.  I'm guessing that's the vocoder pedal that's making the high-pitched dolphin-like noises?  And there's almost like this chaos storm that threatens to overtake the whole thing for a bit in the 4:00 range or thereabouts that was really nice.

That is a hypnotic track. Your music often has this liquid quality to it, with taints of colors surfacing and then going back under.

The closest image I could find on what your music feels like. What a wonderful journey. Do you do jam sessions? That sounds like an awesome potential for a jam session with some other open minded individuals, and with a few people in the bar tripping out while listening.

I love the guitar tone. I'm really not an expert but it sounds really warm, very nice atmosphere

Very hypnotic, sucks you in, such a pleasant sound to everything, I really like the length of this piece, could keep playing in the background

The vocoder layered over the jazzy guitar is a lovely touch and done very tastefully. The loop is hypnotic and your guitar tone has some nice range from mellow to brassy. I was just telling my wife about you last weekend and how you manage to turn out beautiful tracks while working seven days a week (so I can't complain smile) More proof... hope you get some off time soon!

cool jam and effects smile love the vocoder and how it mixes with the fine guitar playing!

Thank you for listening to this. I hardly can say which effects are high-pitched dolphin-like noises, because there are effects from 3:30 on the guitartrack too. The liquid blubber noises are definitely from the guitarpedals. One day I will show you the trick.

Thank you for this beautiful gif. If I could, I would like to make this feeling in 3 or 4 dimensions. This is what I am working on secretly. I once had a trio, we were jamming for hours and did awesome music. But then came corona and we did not meet again. At the moment I am too busy and there are no open minded listeners in my hometown for the kind of music we did. Thank you for the nice comments you always send to me.

Thank you. The guitar tone comes from an Epiphone Zephyr Regent, a beautiful warm piece of wood.

I like what you wrote. That is the perfect comment, I was hoping for. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. I am not living in Brooklyn like you. Here is not much interesting happening at all. That is why I have a little leisure left to torture my equipment. The job in the hospital is exhausting and it is a pitty no one there likes music, the way I do. If there wasn`t weeklybeats and you, I would feel very lonesome.

Thank you, sir.

I love it when you do this, an endless stream of conscious. It vibes so well with us.

Such a super soothing sound throughout this hypnotic track.  That one main chord really provides space for your beautiful guitar work to saunter about.  I didn't realize ten minutes flew by either.  Music time travel! yikes  Very inspiring work!

Rough week / bad weekend here, and this has been on loop all day today. I think it's lovely but I'm afraid if I'll say more it'll distract from just how utterly mesmerizing this is on its beautiful surface. heart

Mesmerising loops and layers, sounds sublime. The main phrase is just right. I love how it changes up around 3 minutes, and then that beautiful vibrato/tremolo sound towards the end.
