I've started up the ironchefofmusic again. Interestingly, the deadline is the same time as weeklybeats; 5P CT on Sundays. Usually we do it twice a month.
We get two hours to pull apart a single sample and make a new track.
The source sample was a spectral rendering of the icom logo; about two seconds long
Apart from that, I used ableton with a huge effects chain and an xbox controller to generate new samples from the source, then renoise to track everything.
