sTR8t sh0t - Day 1 with the TR8

By Princent Vice on June 23, 2024 11:50 pm

Recently got myself a TR8 to satiate my TR909 lust. It arrived yesterday so this is my first run with it. Same style as the last few weeks; tt303 providing the acid, OPZ on chords and bass, TR8 on drums. I really enjoy this kind of semi improv. Mastered in Logic, trying FAC Punchlab out for the first time

I really like how the different chord voicings give movement to the song. Great that you ended the song with them!

Man, so many numbers in those tags. Are you missing any?
Good first run though.

Still missing a 202 😭😭😭

I was looking out for those 707 sounds as that's my jam. You sure you used any this time around? big_smile

In any case that TR-8 sounds great. Same for the acidline. Those two work together really well! I like the OPZ sounds less here, the chords are somewhat distorted and the bass could use some modulation.

No 707 in this one, lots of 606 though! I agree about the OPZ, but concessions ended up having to be made for the sake of time. The distortion I think is actually my post processing. Had a whole different recording/mastering setup this week than usual.

fun acid session.
