Deli Sandwich

By Pop Tronics on April 7, 2024 8:26 pm

Went into a deli. Got myself a sandwich. Then I walked out that door.
That sandwich had turkey, mayo, cheese, & lettuce on a roll so soft and warm

Walked to a park where I sat on a bench because I didn’t have much to do. Sitting and thinking, smoking and drinking I began to eat my food.

You can get one in New York

I ate about half and met up with a friend. We started a conversation. Spoke of the future spoke of the past. Spoke of lost loves that didn’t last.

Continuing to talk we began that walk. Breathing in the fresh air. Taking it in, looking at trees. She mentioned she was feeling hungry.

Later got home I took a nap and I dreamed of that had happened.
When I awoke I took a smoke and thought about leaving my home

I attended a party it was a rave. The music was hot that the DJ played.
When I left and I felt peckish, to the bodega  went and my money got spent.

That's a catchy chorus!

Thanks, that's what I was going for. Got it stuck in my own head, so I think I achieved that.

So much melancholy for a sandwich song. Can't help but relate.

I'm sure you've had a similar sandwich or two in your life.
