Flutter (v1)

The final week! Somehow I managed to record something every week this year, although the quality was definitely not consistent.

This is another old song that I finally tried to record. It's a somber song about big life transitions, which seems fitting for a number of reasons in my personal life right now. Maybe most notably, I turn 30 next week shortly after the new year.

Thanks to everyone who has listened to my goofy little demos this year. I have tried to respond to most comments, but my time commitment to Weekly Beats has waxed and waned with life. I really do appreciate the community here and discovering what others have created.

If anyone would like to follow my creative adventures going forward, you can find me (and my band "Jonah!" ) below. Next year, I'm planning to take many of the demos I created this year and refine them into polished projects.

*** LYRICS ***

There will be no more songs from our youth
Everything after this will sound like it’s new
And nothing we do can change what our past will include
(that’s you)

There are no strings left to steer our track
Gone with the hands that used to pat on our backs
The lines we wore thin have all fallen to disuse
(that’s youth)

What we would give for a chance to rewind
To see with angel eyes, to hate we’d be blind
In time we will see there’s nowhere to be but here
(so just be here)

A classic case of whatever it takes
Moving forward with no regard for the brakes
But all that we'll do can change what our future includes
(that’s up to you)

Beautifully written! smile

Will you freakin look at that. Excellent job, sir!
Anyways I think your voice sounds great.
I hear what you're saying about intonation, but to me it sounds more like you've got a built-in chorus pedal or something, than like you're off-key. I enjoy it! I hope you can come around to enjoying it too heart
Happy new year!
