Trash Haiti

By Phil Harmonic on May 27, 2012 4:33 pm

Alright. tried to do the theme of "Trash80 Influenced" this week. I know there are some trash80isms in there. I used two of his reaktor ensembles (Digitek and OKi Computer)
I would liked to have ironed out the transitions a little more as I know Tim focuses a lot on that stuff.. anyways, enjoy.

DANCE DANCE DANCE!! Very cool track

heheheh nice! love the title big_smile

Yay. heart

bahahah trash haiti smile  this is super slick

This tune rocks.

Wow... I love everything about this track!  Love that bass rhythm groove and old school sound.  Kind of a soft overdrive mix.  Excellent!

Thanks guys.. but the real question is. did I successfully emulate Tim?  I think I could have done better, but the usual constraints got the best of me.. Fuck first world whinges of work and death of pets etc..

also. i wonder if it will help to lure him back.. that was kinda the point wink

wow. nailed it. when i first heard it I was like "woah! how did I end up on a trash80 song?". then i remembered about the theme. NICE!

I think you nailed it. I'm pretty sure if I would have identified it as Trash80 in a blind test.

You made the theme your bitch!
I was going to, but didn't have the time...
I might do a Trash80 song later though smile

Oh my word, this is so spot on, especially that lead!

I think most of it sounds just like him, but the quieter parts don't. He usually fills every second with depth and the quiet parts seem to straight forward to me IMO

He's what brought me to this site after listening to him for 3 years so I might not be able to explain much more than that, but it sounds just a little less dimensional than his songs even though %95 of it is there.

P.S. I hope he does take the bait tongue

@overfocused: yeah. that's about how i felt about it. I would liked to have filled in more detail but as always, there wasnt time. Trash80 has been one of my closest friends for about 12 years.. I think by now I have a pretty good grasp on his style wink

that bass is drivin!!

some of the sounds/motifs are close (that opening lead sounds very much like Within Time), but some others are slightly too on the Sega side. some of your melodic intervals are different too
