Gumshoe '88

By Phil Harmonic on February 25, 2024 12:15 pm

Retrofuturistic detective theme music or something:D
many different variations of 8/8 time , heavily swung

This is awesome!! Reminds me of some of the music from old Dragon Warrior or something, or Star Ocean 3. So fun!

I'm not sure if I'm using this term right but the name that comes to mind is "ragtime". This is so funky and groovy. I'm very much enjoying the places that main melody went, super fun!

Hehe .. it’s not ragtime .. but I can see where one might put it near that vane .. there is a lot of syncopation like in Ragtime

The grooviest gumshoe there ever was. big_smile

I love those pitch slides.

Super fun track.

Dudddeee this is a banger. I love that panned call and response between the leads. So much detail in this tune, I'm super into the lead line and what the rhythm section is doing.

oh yeah, I feel that swing. loving the lead synth melody, and that rhythm change-up right around a minute in (that also comes back again later in the song).

nice work!

Groovin' and swingin' A fun one!

Ten years before Cowboy Bebop, there was Gumshoe '88, and his funky ways of doing business.
This song slaps.

Slaaaaaps. I would watch Dick Tracy punch a weird guy in his raisin like face to this all day.

Seriously though it’s got this kind of lilt to it that makes it so funky. The breakdown is a pure joy too

A very energetic entry! The lead is indeed a riot. I appreciate the piano in the background, and the variations in the drums. The bass line is written very well, too. I would turn it up just a notch, it drowns a bit in the mix.

Nitpick: you didn't let the final piano sound reverbate, the file cuts abruptly.

Well my shoe didn't have no gum on it, as it was bouncing up and down the whole way. VERY nice!
