COLD START

For this week's song I started with a recording of me cold starting my 1986 Case IH 485 tractor. She doesn't like to go when she's cold! Some days it can take 30s to a minute to get her to catch. Sometimes I do a little beat box along with the cranking sound to pass the time 
! Which got me thinking I should try to make a track around that sound.
Anyway, I tried chopping that sample into a beat of some sort and then just tried to fill out the song from there. I added some Speak and Spell vocals to add some humour to the mix. So I was having fun making this one!
Light on melodic stuff and lots of rhythmic elements.
Samples this week are the tractor starting and also I recorded some chains clinking to add a bit of interest. Everything else, including the kick and snare, is M8 synths. Direct render from M8 as usual.
