otherwise, i really like the vocals and I really like your work, but it sounds slightly disconnected - like a remix - which of course it is. might be because I really adore the original. that's just my first impression, may change in a couple of days!

I thought about it a little more and here is what I think. You are a great producer. I think you could do more with the voice -- mangle it more. I think that's why i like the scream drowning in reverb -- that's where you show your audio skillzzzz. I'm listening to a bit of Skinny Puppy these days and they certainly mangle the crap out of the singer's voice. E.g., "Politikil" if you're on spotify. I'm not saying it's the greatest song or you even that that's a direction you "should" be going in (waere ja noch schoener, gell), but the voice is used much more like another oscillator or sample. I think you would kick some serious ass with your friend's voice, too.
